Chick-Fil-A Brings the Happy (and, of course, some Chicken)

Who wouldn’t love a lunch provided by Chick-Fil-A for free? It’s basically everyone’s dream. And for our residents and Soup Line guests that dream became a reality last weekend when staff from Chick-Fil-A in Hagerstown stopped by The Hope Center to host lunch!

Thirteen Chick-Fil-A team members helped prepare, serve, and interact with all of the men, women and children who joined us for lunch. Lead by Mary Teal Medina, the Marketing Director, and Matt Roach, Operations Director, the crew served a delicious meal of BBQ chicken sandwiches, chicken noodle soup over a hot biscuit, and a cookie. And to wash it all down our guests enjoyed some of that delicious southern style sweet tea that is wildly popular at Chick-Fil-A!

It was another full house during Soup Line and our guests enjoyed the great food and good company.

We are so thankful for the team from Chick-Fil-A for volunteering and being involved in helping us feed those in need in Hagerstown. We would gladly welcome Chick-Fil-A back any time, and we know our guests would too!

Thank you so much, Chick-Fil-A of Hagerstown, for taking time out of your schedule to share with our residents and guests!

If you’re reading this and craving some great fast food then swing by Chick-Fil-A on Wesel Blvd in Hagerstown for a sandwich, grilled nuggets, waffle fries, and Chick-Fil-A sauce…or just get whatever makes your heart happy on that menu because you know it’s gonna taste great!

If you, your business, scout troop, church, or civic group would like to join Chick-Fil-A and other local restaurants in serving our lunch guests then please give us a call at 301.739.1165 or email hagerstownrescue@verizon.net. There’s a genuine need for food assistance in our community and we’re so thrilled to have restaurants in the area team up with us and our other donors and volunteers to combat hunger and hopelessness in Hagerstown. There’s Always a New Adventure at Camp Wild

The second week of Camp Wild is coming to an end. And even though we had a couple days of rainy weather, the kids have been having a blast this week!

A little rain didn’t stop anyone from having fun, but because of the rain campers stayed indoors at the Trinity Center in the afternoon on Monday and Tuesday.

They spent the afternoons playing games, enjoying free time to shoot hoops, and making art projects.

But since the campers couldn’t enjoy all the various outdoor activities the first two days of camp, for Wednesday, Camp Wild planned to do something they’ve never done before.

Yesterday the kids were able to spend the entire day at our outdoor camp facility!

The kids were thrilled to enjoy the morning and afternoon exploring, discovering, and playing outside. In addition to free time, the campers also experienced attractions like the Tiger Trail, Snake Charmer and Life Cycles.

For lunch, the campers enjoyed having a “picnic” with chips, drinks, snacks, and delicious Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches!

The staff at Camp Wild work hard to make each day special and fun for the campers. Even when the weather makes it difficult, our staff doesn’t miss a beat keeping the kids engaged and entertained.

We’re so thankful for everyone who has been helping to make Camp Wild successful. They pour their heart into this ministry and work hard to create a fun, adventurous atmosphere for each camper. They work hard at Camp Wild because each one sees the value of each camper and understands the importance of reaching these kids for Christ! Thank you, Camp Wild staff & volunteers, for all you do to show Jesus to these precious campers.

And we want to thank Chick-Fil-A for sponsoring those absolutely delicious chicken sandwiches for our campers each week! It’s a special treat for the kids, and the counselors too!

There is still some space left for the last two weeks of Camp Wild on July 28-August 1 and August 4-8. While transportation is provided, space is limited and could be full. If you’re interested in signing your kids up for a free week of camp, call 301.739.1165 or email info@wildsideyouth.com immediately. We highly suggest that you don’t delay. If you’re providing your own transportation, please notify the Camp Wild representative when you register your kids.

Thanks Chick-fil-A!

During the third and fourth weeks of Camp Wild 2012, our campers were treated to some delicious sandwiches from Chick-fil-A of Hagerstown!

We want to thank Chick-fil-A for being so generous to the campers and staff at Camp Wild! Everyone enjoyed eating their chicken sandwiches!

Make sure to visit Chick-fil-A in Hagerstown as a way to thank them for supporting Camp Wild 2012! And if you’ve never experienced the Chick-fil-A difference, head to 1680 Wesel Blvd in Hagerstown. Chick-fil-A is located just in front of Martins Food Stores and across the street from Red Lobster.

It’s always special when local businesses donate goods to all the various people that we minister to at The Hope Center.

Thanks again, Chick-fil-A!
