We’re hiring a part-time Food Services Manager (FSM) for our kitchen at The Hope Center.
This is a very important position and one that will give the applicant plenty of interaction with resident men who work in the kitchen as well as our residents and community guests during meal service.
The Food Services Manager (cooking experience required) will oversee the daily operation of the kitchen which includes supervising program men who are assigned to kitchen duty. The FSM must be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities which include creating a weekly menu schedule for all meals utilizing available food resources in our pantry. The FSM must be able to cook and easily navigate & supervise a kitchen as well as plan and prepare meals using donated food of various kinds.
This position is part-time and the FSM will be scheduled 25-28 hours a week but must be available to work some weekends.
This position is a great opportunity for retirees or others who are hoping to use their skills in the kitchen to help others in many different ways. The resident men who work in the kitchen are learning skills and habits that will help them once they leave our program and return to society. The FSM can build positive relationships with these men and help them grow spiritually during their time at The Hope Center. In addition to our residents, the FSM has a very special opportunity to see the faces and meet the hundreds of people each year who join us for lunch each day at our daily soup line. People of all walks of life join us throughout the year at our soup line and the FSM has the chance to help feed the hungry and give a smile and hope to some of the hurting in our community.

We are in urgent need of a qualified person to drive our donation pick-up truck.
Our donation trucks operate from Monday-Saturday. Saturdays would be morning hours only but Monday-Friday would include hours into the afternoon.
Our donation vehicles are small box trucks so a special license is not required but a good driving record is.
Drivers for our donation trucks will work approximately 25-28 hours a week. If you are interested in this position but cannot work everyday, we would be willing to hire two men to divide the week. You would also have one of our Hope Center Life Recovery program men as a helper.
Our donation trucks play a vital role in providing necessary income to help keep our facilities and programs to the community operational. We’re currently looking for some men who could volunteer at least 4 hours per week to work the desk in our check-in office in the men’s ministry building at The Hope Center in Hagerstown.
We are hoping to find volunteers who could man the desk from 8:30am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4:30pm one day each week, Monday through Friday. If you are able to give more than 4 hours each day or would like to give 4 hours on multiple days a week then we’d greatly appreciate it!
The main responsibilities of the check-in desk is simply to help monitor everyone coming in and going out of the building and receiving any calls transferred to the check-in office.
This is a wonderful opportunity for any retired men in the area to serve the Lord and help make a difference in the lives of so many men in need. A kind, smiling face at the check-in desk can be the first step in leading someone to the Lord and changing their life for eternity!

This position is full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday – Saturday. There are no evening hours or Sunday hours.
Purpose and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Manage, monitor and evaluate the daily operations of the Hagerstown and Chambersburg Thrift Stores
Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
Ensure a reasonable financial return on store items
Ensure donated items are displayed so they are attractive, neat and orderly
Manage and serve as lead worker to subordinate store personnel and volunteers
Ensure accountability and security of all store items and funds (including credit information)
Plan, supervise and participate in the layout and display of store merchandise
Must be born again believer in Jesus Christ and maintain a lifestyle above reproach
Must have 2 years experience in retail management and merchandising (Thrift Store experience preferred)
Must have at least 1 year supervisory experience
Knowledge of the principles and practices of retail store management
Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective customer relations
Ability to evaluate overall store operations in order to detect deficiencies and implement appropriate corrective action
Must have experience with credit card transactions, the operation of cash registers and excellence in handling money
Must be a person of integrity, good character and discreet
Must agree with Four States Christian Missions, Inc. statement of faith
