We are so happy to have a special lady back at The Hope Center!
Aleta, our Food Services Manager is back to work after some time off for health reasons. Aleta started her job at The Hope Center in November of 2010.
Aleta has had ongoing health issues requiring her to leave her job. She recently returned to work after taking a 6-week leave for surgery. The entire Hope Center family is so happy to have Aleta back on the job!
Aleta came to The Hope Center with a lot of experience in food services management. She was the Banquet Manager at the Ramada as well as an Assistant Banquet Manager at Holiday Inn – Frederick. In addition to her banquet work at area hotels, she was the Kitchen Supervisor at Washington County Hospital, now Meritus Medical Center.
Her job as Food Services Manager at The Hope Center involves creating a menu for several meals a day for residents and community guests. Along with creating the daily menu, Aleta is head cook and uses her experience to find creative ways to utilize all the donations of food.
A special part of her job at The Hope Center involves supervising four Foundations Life Recovery program residents. The residents that work in the kitchen help to cook, clean and serve the food while gaining valuable training in food service from Aleta.
Aleta says that her favorite part of working here is serving others by cooking hot, nutritious meals.
